LA JOLLA, Calif. — Tuesday's United Soccer Coaches rankings for Division I men's soccer sees UC San Diego receiving votes for the first time in the program's DI era. The Tritons are the highest-ranked Pac-12 team.
UC San Diego is 6-3-1 on the year and 1-0-1 after the first week of Pac-12 competition. The team's defensive efforts see the Tritons 10th nationally in goals against average (.700) and 13th in shutout percentage (.500) and save percentage (.825).
The Tritons started the year 4-0-0, setting program records for their longest DI winning streak and shutout streak (430 minutes). Since then, they have also tied program DI records for shutouts (5) and road wins (4).
Up next for the Tritons is a road match with UC Riverside tomorrow, Oct. 7, and a home match with Oregon State this Saturday, Oct. 10. Tickets for Saturday's home match are available through
