SAN DIEGO – UC San Diego resumed Big West action with a tidy 4-0 victory over UC Riverside on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Tritons have now won three conference matches for the first time since joining The Big West in 2021.
The match was played at the Aztec Tennis Center on the San Diego State campus after a delay of more than four hours due to wet courts in La Jolla,

The Tritons were efficient in singles play, clinching the victory with straight sets wins at No. 3, then 2, then 1. Freshman
Allison Lian won her third Big West match, 6-2, 6-0 over UCR's Kei Koto. Leung topped Niki Shahbazi, 6-0, 6-4 on court two, before Haynes sealed the win with her 6-3, 6-1 win at first singles over Ramey Yu.

"We handled business today with a lot of moving parts," said UC San Diego head coach
Sebastian Bader. "We were efficient in doubles play which set the tone for us moving into singles action. We've got a quick turn before we're on the road tomorrow for another conference match."
TRITON TIDBITS
- After being delayed several times by wet courts, the match was ultimately moved to Aztec Tennis Center on the San Diego State campus, where the Triton men were also 4-0 winners over UCR.
- UC San Diego captain Julia Haynes improved to 12-2 in singles action this spring – all from the first position.
- First year Triton Kamya Nair moved into the UC San Diego lineup for the first time this spring, competing at the sixth position against her former squad.
