IRVINE, Calif.—UC San Diego had 93 scholar-athletes named to the 2024 Big West Spring All-Academic Team, as announced Wednesday by the conference. UC San Diego had the second most honorees of the Big West institutions with UC Davis just ahead with 94 and CSUN in third with 79 selections.
To be eligible, scholar-athletes must carry a minimum grade point average of 3.00, be at least a sophomore academically with one full year at the institution and have competed in 50 percent of the team's contests (excluding pitchers for baseball and softball).Â

A total of 771Â scholar-athletes who compete in the spring sports of baseball, men's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, men's volleyball and women's water polo across The Big West were honored for their work in the classroom and on the playing field.

Additionally, UC San Diego had three scholar-athletes from women's track and field with 4.0 GPA's, including
Emma Dunmire (Computer Engineering),
Jenna Satovsky (General Biology) and
Isabelle Shepherd (Chemistry).Â

By sport, women's track & field had by far the most honorees with 165 student-athletes named to the team. Baseball had 115, followed by Softball (103), men's track & field had (102), women's water polo (72), women's tennis (50), beach volleyball (48), men's volleyball (35), men's golf (29), women's golf (27) and men's tennis (25).Â
Rounding out the Big West institutions was UC Irvine in fourth with 74 honorees, followed by Hawai'i (73), Long Beach State (72), Cal Poly (71), UC Santa Barbara (66), Cal State Fullerton (49), UC Riverside (48) and Cal State Bakersfield (42).

The Big West recognizes individuals academically per season – fall, winter, and spring – for all conference-sponsored sports. The Fall Academic All-Conference Team was announced in January with 55 Tritons honored, and the Winter Academic All-Conference Team had nine Tritons from men's and women's basketball recognized.
