LA JOLLA, Calif. – Celebrating the program's Senior Day with a tremendous performance, the UC San Diego men's tennis team earned an impressive 4-0 victory over Hawai'i on Wednesday afternoon at the Northview Tennis Courts.
The Tritons were able to bounce back from consecutive losses to pick up the victory in clinch format over their conference opponent.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Ready to bounce back after a pair of losses, the Tritons came out surging early as the pairings of
Pelayo Rodriguez and
Zach Pellouchoud as well as
Daniel Traxler and
Diogo Tinoco won a pair of doubles matches to clinch the point and give UC San Diego the lead.
Both Rodriguez and Pellouchoud delivered the knock-out punch with their 6-3 victory to clinch the match after the Rainbow Warriors won their match on court three.
Building on the momentum from singles,
Carson Lee,
Diogo Tinoco and
Zach Pellouchoud each earned victories to help the Tritons earn the 4-0 clinch victory. Lee battled hard for his two-set victory that clinched UC San Diego's second win for the Tritons in Big West play.

TRITON TIDBIT
- Today marked the first time the Tritons have defeated the Rainbow Warriors in the Division I era.
- UC San Diego was also able to earn their first ever conference shut out victory in the transition to DI.
- The doubles pairing of Rodriguez and Pellouchoud now has a 10-8 overall record on the season, and are 9-8 when competing at the number one spot in the lineup.
- In singles play, Pellouchoud now boats a five match winning streak and is now 5-5 when competing at the fifth spot in the lineup.
