Tritons Fall at San José State

SAN JOSÉ, Calif. – Following an 11-day layoff for final exams, UC San Diego returned to the court Tuesday afternoon at San José State for the first of three matches in less than 48 hours. The Spartans earned a 4-0 victory over the Tritons. The setback was the second straight for UC San Diego, while San José State won its second match of the week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
San José State got off to a strong start, capturing the doubles point with 6-2 wins on one and two. It was a tightly contested affair on court three, with Kelly Leung and Katelyn Vu leading 5-4 over Duru Durgun and Olaya Iglesias when the Spartans clinched the point.
 
In singles play, junior Naomi Nguyen led 6-4, 5-1 on court six when San José State clinched the win. The Spartans were winners at first, third and second singles to clinch the victory.
