HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego applied pressure over the first 45, holding an 8-2 shot advantage and earning the only two corner kicks of the first half. The Tritons broke through in the 17th minute when Luo blasted a shot from the top of the 18 that blew past UCR goalkeeper Allee Grashoff to give UC San Diego a 1-0 advantage.

Â
Triton goalkeeper
Ginny Fronk only faced one shot on goal in the first half, but she came out to challenge and made a fantastic stop as the Tritons took a one-nil lead into halftime.
Â
The Highlanders wasted little time bringing the match level after halftime, netting the equalizer from Mimi Dominguez in the 46th minute. In the 85', UCR's Sarah Mahfoud earned her second yellow card of the match, resulting in her disqualification for the final 5:56. The Tritons held a man advantage from that point forward but were unable to net a second goal.
