HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: UC San Diego 6, Northern Colorado 2
The Tritons got on the board early in game one, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. UC San Diego added three more runs in the third with a two-RBI triple by Smith and an RBI single by Halbach to take a 4-0 lead.

UNC was able to break through for a run in the top of the fifth and added one more in the sixth to cut the deficit in half.

The Tritons added two important insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it 6-2. The Bears rallied one last time in the ninth, getting two runners on with one out before Rissas came in from the bullpen and got a fly-out and a strikeout to end the inning unscathed and earn the save.

Game 2: UC San Diego 8, Northern Colorado 8
The Tritons racked up 15 hits in the second game of the day, doing most of their damage in the second inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead. UC San Diego added a run in the sixth and the seventh, before tallying two more in the eighth for the 8-0 shutout victory.

The Bears stranded 10 runners on base, including loading the bases with two outs in both the third and the seventh. However, the Triton pitching staff came up clutch both times with a strikeout by Eyanson in the third and another by Izaak Martinez in the seventh to end the threats and preserve the shutout.
