HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons fought hard in the second match of the day, but UNLV clinched doubles and three swift singles victories to win 4-0 once more.
UC San Diego head coach Timmer Willing opted to rotate the Triton lineup coming in, giving William Lan, Sanjith Devineni, Joseph Teh, and Eric Silberman an opportunity.
The fresh lineup struggled during the doubles matches, with UNLV taking victories at No. 1 and No. 2.
Similar to the morning match, the Tritons fell short at No. 4, No. 5, and No. 6, leading to another victory by the Rebels.
QUOTABLE FROM HEAD COACH TIMMER WILLING
"We came out more prepared and ready than we did Saturday. The energy level was good and it carried over into singles, but UNLV had too much depth. Losing a close doubles point was a big difference again with their bottom lineup strength.
The second match, we rotated players to help develop the future and they came out ready. I'm proud of how they competed in doubles. Moving out most of our starting lineup and Jett Cole to number one, he was able to secure the first set and competing to finish in straight sets while Sanjith Devineni was down but battling to take the second set at 3 before the match was clinched with UNLV's depth again."

The Tritons return home next weekend for a double-header against Northern Arizona on Feb. 19. All spectators at Northview Tennis Courts receive free admission. The campus requires parking permits seven days a week.
