DAVIS, Calif.–UC San Diego women's basketball won in thrilling fashion, 65-63, at UC Davis on Monday afternoon in University Credit Union Center.
Izzy Forsyth scored the game winner with 1.4 seconds remaining to help the Tritons (7-9, 4-2 Big West) improve to 2-3 in the Division I series (5-15 all-time) with the Aggies (6-10, 2-4 Big West).

Sydney Brown led the Tritons with 18 points, while Forsyth added 16 points, a team-high nine rebounds and two steals.
Emily Cangelosi also finished in double-figures with 13 points and seven rebounds.
Parker Montgomery also finished with two steals and was one of four Tritons to finish with two assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams kept things close to open the game, trading the lead to a 15-15 tie before UC Davis put together back-to-back baskets to create space. Mahan hit a jumper with 20 seconds to play and the Aggies took a 19-17 lead into the first quarter break.

UC Davis came out hot to begin the second quarter, using a 7-2 run to extend its lead, 26-19 and force an early timeout for the Tritons. UC San Diego came out of the timeout with a 10-point scoring run to retake the lead, 29-26. The teams traded baskets before the Tritons put together another 8-0 run to build their largest lead of the half , 39-31. The Aggies cut the lead in half before Mahan knocked down a jumper in the final second to give UC San Diego a 41-35 halftime lead.

The Aggies opened the third quarter with a five-point run to cut the lead to one, but the Tritons answered with a 5-0 run of their own to make it 46-40 midway through the period. UCD then put together a 11-2 run to retake the lead 51-48, before Brown hit back-to-back baskets in the final 1:30 to take a 52-51 lead into the final quarter break.

UC Davis used an early 6-2 run to retake the lead, 57-56, with 5:45 to play in the contest. The Tritons answered with a five-point swing to jump back in front 61-57, but the Aggies pulled even 61-all and the teams stayed knotted down the stretch. With the game tied 63-63, Montgomery came up with a big defensive stop and the Tritons advanced to inbound with 2.9 to play. Montgomery found Forsyth underneath the basket for the game-winning layup to seal the victory, 65-63.

- Sydney Brown turned in her 12th double-digit scoring effort of the year and Izzy Forsyth recorded her sixth of the season.
- The Tritons shot 48.1% from the field compared to 44.6% for the Aggies. UC San Diego held the advantage in rebounds (33-28), were a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line and made 7-of-21 from three-point range compared to 5-of-21 for UCD.
