LA JOLLA, Calif. – A total of 23 scholar-athletes from the UC San Diego fencing team earned All-Academic honors from the U.S. Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) Wednesday.

The 2022 USFCA All-Academic Team includes 366 scholar-athletes with 217 of those receiving recognition as a Scholar of Distinction. All-Academic honors are presented to those scholar-athletes at member institutions who had an in-season GPA of 3.3 or higher. Scholar of Distinction honors are presented to those scholar-athletes at member institutions who had an in-season GPA of 3.7 or higher.

UC San Diego had 13 Tritons recognized as Scholars of Distinction - seven women and six men. 

In addition, both the men's and women's squads won Team All-Academic awards for their in-season GPA.

Overall, 14 women's teams and six men's teams nationwide received All-Academic honors.
