LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego women's tennis team shut out visiting San Diego Christian by a 7-0 score on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference match-up at Northview Tennis Courts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons swept doubles action to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Senior captain Anu Bhadada and sophomore Ella Pachl made quick work of their opponents, 6-0, at No. 1. The freshmen tandem of Katelyn Vu and Naomi Nguyen clinched the point with a 6-1 win at No. 2. Junior Rachel Wagner and freshman Adriana Tabares completed the sweep with a 7-5 win at No. 3.
 
In singles play, UC San Diego won all six positions to earn the shutout. Junior Julianna Sabile swept in straight sets at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0. Wagner was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at fourth singles to make the score 3-0 in favor of the Tritons. Vu clinched the win with her 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2.
 
Nguyen won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 3, Bhadada was a 6-1, 6-4 winner at No. 5, and Pachl preserved the shutout with her 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 1.
