Baseball Unable to Get Bats Going in Loss to Toreros

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The UC San Diego Baseball team dropped game three against University of San Diego by a score of 10-2, dropping the Tritons to 1-6 on the season. The Toreros improved to 6-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A double from Tate Soderstrom that made its way to the center field wall brought Jackson Kritsch in to give the Tritons the 1-0 lead to start the first inning. The Toreros would tie the game up in the second inning after a single down the right field line drove in a run. With two outs and runners in scoring position, Brandon Weed ending the inning by fielding a ground ball and tossing it to first.

USD loaded the bases up in the third inning and added four more runs to take a 5-1 lead. The Toreros loaded the bases in the sixth, but the Tritons limited the damage to one run.

Down 6-1 in the eighth, Brandon Stewart was walked. He advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Kritsch single to left to cut the deficit to 6-2.
