RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The UC San Diego women's basketball team earned a 63-59 win over UC Riverside at SRC Arena this evening behind a pair of double-doubles by Aishah Brown and Sydney Brown. With the victory, the Tritons improve to 3-7 both overall and in Big West Conference action, while the Highlanders fall to 7-8 on the season and 5-6 in conference play.

It was a strong start for the Tritons, as they never trailed in the entire first quarter. Claros chipped in eight points as the Tritons finished the period with a 16-14 lead over the Highlanders.

The Tritons maintained their lead throughout the next quarter as well. UC San Diego put up 17 points on 7-15 shooting in the second period and entered halftime with an eight-point lead, which was then its biggest advantage of the night.

Coming out of halftime, both teams ramped up their offensive output. The Tritons scored 20 points on 7-11 shooting, while the Highlanders narrowly edged the Tritons with 21 points on 9-18 shooting. Sydney Brown contributed nine of UC San Diego's points in the quarter.

Although neither team matched their third quarter efforts in the fourth quarter, as the Tritons put up 10 points and the Highlanders scored 13, it was enough for UC San Diego to secure the win. UC San Diego ultimately earned a 63-59 victory over the Highlanders, which is its first road win of the season.
