Bobbi Aguirre, junior
Isabel Lavrov and senior
Danica Kazakoff went 3-for-5 at the plate. On the night, both Lavrov and Kazakoff amassed 4 RBIs apiece. Three UC San Diego pitchers, junior

Game One:
UC San Diego 10, Cal State San Marcos 0 (5 Inn.)
The Tritons laid into the Cougars right from the get-go.
Leadoff batter, freshman
Sophia Real started the first inning with a nine-pitch walk. Aguirre placed a sacrifice bunt back to the pitcher who led her second baseman to far up the line, allowing everyone to advance. With two outs and runners in scoring, Lavrov executed with a hard ground ball up the middle for the first two runs of the ball game.
Wampler was especially brilliant in the first two innings. Against the first two batters of each inning, the lefty sent them down on strikeouts, running her total to four after encountering six batters.
The bottom of the second included an explosive performance from the home team. Four hits and two miscues from the Cougar defense led to a seven-run eruption. Kazakoff blasted a double to right center to jumpstart the UC San Diego bats and the team never looked back. Both Kazakoff and Lavrov tallied two RBIs a piece in the event with line drives back up the middle, highlighting the majority of the run production. Lavrov increased her RBI count to 20, a new team-high.
In addition, Aguirre, as well as seniors
Mikaila Reyes and
Alyssa Wing collected RBIs in the contest. Lavrov and Stedman continued their battle on the base paths for the team leader in steals; Stedman earned two (15-17), while Lavrov gained one (13-17).
The Tritons out-hit the Cougars seven to one. The blue and gold also took advantage of three crucial mistakes by the opponent.
Wampler was lights out the rest of the way. The junior, from Berkeley, went the distance as she tossed all five for a one-hit shutout. She tallied seven strikeouts and only walked one in 18 batters faced to garner her 11
th victory of the season.
Game Two: UC San Diego 4, Cal State San Marcos 0
A pitcher's duel in game two of Wednesday's doubleheader was a familiar setting for the Tritons. UC San Diego's Phillips was in control from the beginning. Through four innings of play, the senior had surrendered just two hits with no runs allowed.
Back-to-back singles from Reyes and Lavrov brought the Tritons to life in the bottom of the fourth. Then, a red-hot Kazakoff turned hard on an inside pitch to double down the right field line allowing both of her teammates to find home plate.
In the fifth, UC San Diego captured two more when Aguirre split the left center gap for a standup two-bagger and Harrington tagged one up the middle. Later on, sophomore
Keila Bosinger added to the manufacturing as she doubled down the left field line to rack up the fourth and final run.
Once again, the Tritons outhit Cal State San Marcos 11 to five. All nine starters for UC San Diego registered at least one hit.
Phillips threw five innings, totaled four strikeouts on the evening and relinquished just two hits. With the win, Phillips moves to 8-4. Simpson entered in relief to complete the shutout. Simpson fanned two in nine batters faced.
