IRVINE, Calif. – The Big West has revealed the preseason polls and preseason All-Conference squads as determined separately by the conference's head coaches and selected media.
As the Tritons head into their first year in the Big West, they were ranked 11
th with 25 points in the coaches poll and ninth with 74 points in the media poll, in which they earned a first place vote.
"We're excited about the upcoming season and competing against the excellent teams and coaches in the Big West," said Head Coach
Heidi VanDerveer. "Our goal is to go out and be competitive every night and constantly improve. It's a big task and we're looking forward to competing in the Big West."
UC San Diego graduated two seniors last year and bolstered its roster with the addition of freshmen
Aishah Brown,
Parker Montgomery, and
Lucy Young. Among the Tritons' returners is
Julia Macabuhay, who was named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American during UC San Diego's final year in Division II.
