LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego softball team pushed 17 across home and shutout Stanislaus State, 17-0, in the first of two California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) matchups Friday at Triton Softball Field. The Tritons brought 10 across home in the second. With the bases loaded, Schneider scored sophomore outfielder Kelsi Maday and sophomore infielder Kendall Baker for the second and third runs of the frame. Kendall Woken also batted in two runs in the inning with a single to right field.

Senior lefty Lexi Edwards (3-0) picked up the win, striking out four and only giving up two hits. Junior righty Milana Casillas made her Triton debut and pitched one inning in relief in the fifth frame.

In the bottom of the eighth frame, Schneider laid down a perfect bunt as Maday scored from third to end the game. The Tritons tied the game in the seventh as Glantz singled up the middle to score Erin Lipelt, who pinch ran for Emily Sklencar.

UCSD took the early lead with a Maday solo homer in the bottom of the first. Stanislaus State took the advantage in the second, scoring three in the frame.

Freshman pitcher Lauren Brown picked up her third win of the season as she pitched 6.2 innings in relief with one strikeout.
