POMONA, Calif.  ? The UC San Diego women's basketball team overcame a nine point deficit with 10 minutes left to defeat Cal Poly Pomona 62-58 on Saturday night on the CPP campus.  Michelle Osier led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds, with clutch free-throw shooting down the stretch.  Osier finished the night being successful on 12-of-15 from the charity stripe.  With the win, UCSD improves to 13-2, 6-0 California Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Broncos drop to 8-7, 4-2 CCAA.  Cal Poly Pomona led 45-36 with 10:00 remaining, only to see the Tritons rally to regain the lead with 4:31 remaining and not look back.
In addition to Osier's double-double, Kristen Cabral had a productive game off the UCSD bench adding nine points on 4-for-4 shooting.  Erin Noonan added seven points and seven rebounds for UCSD.
After a tie score at halftime, Cal Poly Pomona opened up a nine point lead with 10:00 remaining.  The Tritons would chip away and a jumper by Cabral tied the game at 46-46 with 5:08 remaining.  Two Osier free-throws with 4:31 left put UCSD up 48-46.  Chelsea Carlisle followed with a lay-up with 3:49 left to give the Tritons a 50-46 lead.  The Tritons would build their lead to as many as six points before CPP made one last push.
The Broncos nailed a three pointer with :34 left to come within 57-56.  After Noonan made 1-of-2 free throws with :27 left, UCSD came away with a much needed defensive stop.  Osier calmly made two more free throws with :10 left to give UCSD the 60-56 lead.  CPP scored with :04 remaining to cut the deficit down to 60-58, but Osier again responded with consecutive free-throws to ice the game at 62-58.
