Six Tritons have earned accolades for their hard work both in the classroom and on the pitch. Seniors Talisa Lin, Allie Luo and Lindsey Park, junior Alexis Nguyen, sophomore Kat Harris, and redshirt freshman Ava Tibor were all named to the Academic All-District Team as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. All six will now move on to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Four UC San Diego scholar-athletes have been honored by The Big West as the conference announced its women's soccer postseason awards on Saturday afternoon. Freshman forward Ava Tibor was selected as The Big West Freshman of the Year by the conference's head coaches. Tibor was also named to both the Second Team and Freshman Team. Senior back Allie Luo, junior midfielder Alexis Nguyen and freshman goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert were all named Honorable Mention. Wilfert was also placed on the Freshman Team. UC San Diego redshirt freshman goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert has been named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Friday afternoon by the conference office.     Wilfert made six saves and posted her ninth clean sheet of the season as the Tritons blanked visiting UC Santa Barbara, 1-0, in the season finale at Triton Soccer Stadium Thursday night. Wilfert led The Big West in saves (85) and saves per game (4.47) during the regular season. UC San Diego junior midfielder Alexis Nguyen scored in the 81st minute to lift the Tritons to a 1-0 senior night victory over visiting UC Santa Barbara Thursday night at Triton Soccer Stadium. The UC San Diego defense stood firm and goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert made six saves in posting her ninth clean sheet of the season – a UC San Diego program record in Division I.
