UC San Diego placed 38 scholar-athletes on The Big West Winter All-Academic Team, as announced Tuesday by the conference office. The 38 honorees are more than any other Big West institution. The Winter All-Academic Team is composed of student-athletes from men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swimming and diving teams.   To be eligible, scholar-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00, be at least a sophomore academically with one full year at the institution prior to this season and compete in 50 percent of their team's contests.   Triton senior swimmer Sabrina Bennani was highlighted for her perfect 4.0 GPA. Eight Tritons have earned accolades for their hard work both in the classroom and in the pool. Seniors Chloe Braun, Luigi Franco, Robby Griswold, Sydney Niles, Sophia Bell, juniors Adrian Bellido, Eva Boehlke, and sophomore William Miller were all named to the Academic All-District Team as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. Bell, Boehlke, Braun, Griswold, and Franco are repeat honorees, recognized after the 2024-25 season in addition to this year's. Braun and Griswold are repeat honorees over the past two seasons in addition to the 2025-26 team. UC San Diego's Asia Kozan, Chloe Braun, and Eva Boehlke will compete in the NCAA DI Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday and Saturday.
