Both UC San Diego men's and women's swimming teams have been recognized as spring CSCAA Scholar All-America teams, as announced by the CSCAA Wednesday. UC San Diego placed 38 scholar-athletes on The Big West Winter All-Academic Team, as announced Tuesday by the conference office. The 38 honorees are more than any other Big West institution. The Winter All-Academic Team is composed of student-athletes from men's and women's basketball and men's and women's swimming and diving teams.   To be eligible, scholar-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00, be at least a sophomore academically with one full year at the institution prior to this season and compete in 50 percent of their team's contests.   Triton senior swimmer Sabrina Bennani was highlighted for her perfect 4.0 GPA.
