UC San Diego men's basketball head coach Clint Allard has announced the addition of fifth year scholar-athlete Treysen Eaglestaff to the Tritons' roster for the 2026-27 season. Eaglestaff comes to La Jolla after playing last season at West Virginia, where he started all 35 games, averaging 9.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest. Former UC San Diego basketball coach Bill Carr has been elevated to the role of Deputy Athletic Director for Basketball where he will oversee all aspects of the Triton men's and women's basketball programs, including day-to-day operations, roster management, and community engagement. The move was announced by UC San Diego Director of Athletics Andy Fee on Thursday.   "At UC San Diego, we've been thinking differently about how to build our basketball programs," Fee explained. The UC San Diego men's basketball team will take part in the 2026 Acrisure Series in Palm Desert leading up to Thanksgiving. The Tritons will play a pair of games in a 26-team event which will be held Nov. 21-26 at Acrisure Arena. The 2026 Acrisure Series is the largest multi-team event (MTE) in NCAA history. The 2026 Acrisure Series is presented by Acrisure, Visit Greater Palm Springs and Spotlight 29 Casino.   The Tritons will get underway on Sunday Nov. 22, facing Seattle U at 6:30 p.m. PST. UC San Diego will travel to Logan, Utah to take on Utah State in a non-conference showdown Friday, Nov. 13 at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The game time and broadcast information will be announced later. Total Sports Consulting announced today that UC San Diego men's basketball will participate in the 2026 Acrisure Series in Palm Desert. This year's event will take place Nov. 21 through 26 at Acrisure Arena. Specific opponents and game times, along with ticket and hotel information and broadcast details will be announced in August.   Last year, under first year head coach Clint Allard, the Tritons won the Terry's Chocolate ESPN Events Invitational at Walt Disney World. Five UC San Diego men's basketball scholar-athletes have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for excelling in the classroom. The organization announced its 2025-26 honorees Wednesday morning. Aidan Burke, Leo Beath, Tom Beattie, Bol Dengdit and Yaqub Mir represent the Tritons on this year's Honors Court. The UC San Diego men's basketball 2026-27 Big West conference schedule was announced Wednesday by the conference office. With the expansion of The Big West to 12 teams, each conference member will play the other 11 teams twice over 22 dates. The 22-game round-robin schedule will see each team play a home-and-home series between Dec. 3 and March 6.   The Tritons will begin their final season as a member of The Big West on Dec. 3 when they host newcomer California Baptist at LionTree Arena. UC San Diego men's basketball head coach Clint Allard has announced the addition of six newcomers who will join the Tritons' roster for the 2026-27 season: five transfers and one first-year scholar-athlete. Rahmir Barno (Florida Gulf Coast), Kayde Dotson (Loyola Chicago), Jordan Johnson (Calhoun CC Ala.), Olavi Suutela (Oregon State), and Camp Wagner (Indiana State) will transfer to UC San Diego.
