No. 22 Tritons Add Road Date at San Diego State This Thursday
LA JOLLA, Calif. - The red-hot, 22nd-ranked University of California San Diego women's tennis program has added an extra contest as it nears the end of its 2019 dual-match regular-season schedule.
Head coach Liz LaPlante's Tritons (12-5), winners of a season-high eight straight tilts, will travel a second time across town to Division I foe San Diego State University (12-9) this Thursday, April 18. The match at the Aztec Tennis Center is set for a 2 p.m. start. Both teams have had prior dates wiped out due to adverse weather. SDSU is looking for extra competition ahead of hosting the Mountain West Conference Championship, which begins the following Wednesday, April 24.
The Tritons were defeated by the host Aztecs, 7-0, back on Jan. 26. That matchup actually only counted as an exhibition for UC San Diego.
Admission into the Aztec Tennis Center is free on Thursday.
